Beyonce Inspired “Grown Woman” Grilled Cheese

Beyoncé Carter shocked everyone a few weeks back when she dropped an album with no notice, then she included videos for each and every track. Seriously, this news was important enough to be announced by Diane Sawyer on my nightly news and I’m not exactly sure why?!

OK I’m fronting I know EXACTLY why!

It’s because Beyoncé gave everyone their LIFE with that announcement!

Seriously I was out of commission and preoccupied after that news hit, I just wanted my download, and right that moment, unfortunately as Android user, I was perturbed to learn that it was only available for Apple users, however that did not stop me from enjoying the music and some of the released videos as they came, I took to YouTube and was teased by the 30 minute previews, and planned on picking it up from Target, as soon as it came in (Target is my favorite store).

I’m pretty old school anyways and still enjoy buying Cd’s, opening them up as soon as I reach my vehicle and listening to it as I ride,  and then Target announced they wouldn’t be carrying it, shocker!

As time wore off and the days went by I finally got my life back, came down from the high and realized I really couldn’t listen to much of the CD with the little ones in the car anyways. I eventually had to order it off of Amazon, and although I enjoy the entire album, the girls and I favorite song and video is, “Grown Woman” which is both inspiring and prophetic to her life’s journey. We watch a young Beyoncé sing and dance her heart out and in the next shot singing and dancing her heart out as a “Grown Woman” you feel inspired and affected by her story, her growth and her life!

My baby girls love it, probably because of the child-like sound which makes you want to stomp your feet and sing those cheers you and your girlfriends would sing with extreme attitude and hard neck rolling,  as kids on the playground. I enjoy the lyrics, she starts by recalling being a young girl and dreaming about what she wanted her life to be, we all do this, right?

She declares to the world “I’m a grown woman, I can do whatever I want”!

I remember even up to being married and having my first child, continued to look for approval from family and friends, well to say that I’m out of that stage is an understatement. I completely let go of making sure everyone around me is comfortable and accepting of my choices, I came to the realization that I have one life to live and I was going to live it on my terms the way I wanted to.

This is my journey and I own it, I have a vision and it was given to me for a reason, I embrace that to the fullest with or without outside approval! It’s so freeing, just being me without reservation not concerned with making the next person satisfied, cause that’s not my job.

For me Beyoncé is the perfect representation of a woman living and pursuing their dreams both fearless and fierce. She inspires you with this song to live out dreams, goals and passions, whatever they may be with just as much gumption…cause in the end we all “Flawless”!

I’m not saying I’m a part of the Hive but, J’adore, Beyoncé!

I made the sandwich because…….

1. Beyoncé seems like a grilled cheese kind of girl!
