I have to say however the last couple of weeks I have been playing around with making different dressings and mixing different ingredients into our salads and you know what, I have actually enjoyed myself.
My family even approves, the man actually asked for seconds and THIRDS! The kids loved the dressing and strawberries, and when it comes to strawberries I can’t really eat a salad without them they are a main stay in my salads, so there were plenty to go around.
Quick fact; Lettuce is the main cause of food-bourne illnesses, which is precisely why if I do ever choose to have a salad I love the security I feel of eating mine at home as I am responsible for washing and caring for my own salad.
This salad you are looking at here is inspired by National Salad Month, which I was only aware of because of Tastespotting, which was jumping off National Salad Month with a day of salad food pic posts.
I call it “Everything I Like Salad” because I literally strolled through the produce section to pick up whatever I wanted in it, tomatoes, strawberries, cucumbers……you get it! I just picked up whatever I liked and voila something pretty amazing happened, well it was amazing to me at least!
Baby spinach, strawberries, English cucumbers, raspberries, red onion, grape tomatoes, brown sugared walnuts, and a sweet and tangy vinaigrette, made by yours truly !
I used Baby Spinach for my base!
